Grant Funding Information - Stobart Sustainability Fund

The Stobart Sustainability fund is aimed at supporting community-led sustainability projects and initiatives lead by non-profit organisations, community groups and educational facilities, such as schools and colleges, to help them transform their local community through projects that tackle climate change, reduce carbon emissions or that protect and enhance the environment.

They welcome applications from community groups, educational facilities or small businesses.

Applications need to be of a green, ecological or sustainability nature with the project benefiting the environment.

Grants are available to individuals through the Gardening with Disabilities Trust to enable them to continue gardening despite advancing illness, age, or disability.

To apply for a grant, individuals must provide a letter from their doctor or other healthcare professional indicating their disability and a copy of another official document, such as a Personal Independence Payment (PIP) or a Blue Parking Badge.

The grants can be used for:

  • Raised beds
  • Poly Tunnels
  • Greenhouses
  • Tools
  • Small-scale garden adaptations. e.g. access pathways.
  • Plants or Shrubs
  • Compost

The closing date for applications is the 30th November 2024.

Funding & Support from your Community Foundation

Grants are available across Shropshire and Telford & Wrekin!

The Fund aims to strengthen the achievements, prompted by the Games, offering community organisations access to new funding to make a difference for the people they work with. The Fund will serve as a catalyst to address inequalities, forging deeper connections between individuals and organisations to continue the legacy of the Games.

This Fund shares the four original core mission principles of the Commonwealth Games:

  • Bringing people together
  • Improving health and well-being
  • Helping the region to grow
  • Putting the region on the map

Grants will be available for works, activities and services that will contribute to the four core missions, and which fall within one or more of the following three themes:

  • Physical activity and sport
  • Mental health and well-being
  • Arts, culture and creativity
